Throughout it's history, Foróige has been a catalyst of social change, strengthening Irish democracy by building human potential and promoting its applcation in community life.

The organisation has always been to the fore in developing new initiatives to meet youth needs.

Foróige's Youth Work

This video entitled "Why Do You Make Me Cry?" was made by 22 girls and boys aged 12-17 who attend the Foróige Port Project in Portarlington, Co Laois. It tells the tragic story of a young man who dies of drug abuse. The project is one of many Garda Youth Diversion Projects throughout the country which is run by Foróige and designed to provide intervention to youths at risk of going down the wrong road.
