At a glittering event in Kilkenny's Ormonde Hotel on April 5th, we celebrated John Sullivan for six incredible decades of unfaltering service as a Foróige volunteer who has been a stalwart support to the young people of Kilkenny.
We also celebrated 60 years of Cuffesgrange Foróige Club.
We’re over the moon to announce that Foróige Amplified, one of our favourite events of the year, is back for 2024!
Foróige Amplified is an outdoor music festival held in Knockmore GAA Grounds, Ballina, Co. Mayo - with live DJs spinning all the hits alongside professional lighting, deadly sound setup and amazing visual effects. This year’s event will be held on Saturday 6th July 2024. Foróige volunteers from all over Ireland came together in the Mount Wolseley Hotel in Co. Carlow from 2nd - 4th November 2023, for Foróige’s annual Volunteer Conference. This was the 51st annual Foróige Volunteers Conference, with over 130 delegates from 18 counties enjoying a wide variety of guest speakers, group discussions and social events aimed at exchanging ideas to continue Foróige volunteers' impactful work throughout Ireland.
Foróige volunteers from all over Ireland came together in the Tullamore Court Hotel in Co. Offaly this past weekend, 30th - 2nd October 2022, for Foróige’s annual volunteer conference. Minister Roderic O’Gorman was in attendance and spoke to volunteers, praising their continued efforts throughout the pandemic “Foróige volunteers have helped create communities that are vital to our society. The value of the contributions that are made by these volunteers cannot be overstated.”
Foróige’s annual Volunteer Conference is *the* place for Foróige volunteers to network and connect with volunteers from all corners of Ireland to discuss all things Foróige, youth work and volunteering. This year we're celebrating the 50th Volunteer Conference in our history.
Multiple opportunities for volunteers and staff from all around the county to chat, network and connect and learn from each other.
Earlier this month over 90 transition year students from Tullow Community School, Presentation College Carlow, St. Leo’s College, CBS, Presentation De La Salle College and Knockbeg College spent four days in Carlow College taking part in Module 1 of the Foróige Leadership for Life programme. Over the course of the four days, students learned the core concepts of leadership and gained skills in areas such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, critical thinking and self-awareness.
