The National Ploughing Championships are just around the corner, and young gardeners from Offaly and Donegal have put in many dedicated hours of hard work ahead of the three day event.
40 young people from Ballycumber Foróige Club in Offaly & Ballyshannon NYP, the Deck in Donegal Town & Killybegs Youth Project and Drop-in Centre in Donegal have been working hard throughout the summer creating gardens to wow the National Ploughing Championship audience.
ALDI have sponsored the plants and materials for the young people and provided them with a unique opportunity to learn about gardening processes from being mentored by landscape experts SAP, whilst cultivating their creativity.
The community gardens, which attracted 25,000 guests last year, will feature at the front of the ALDI tent at the Ploughing Championships this year.
