Hi, I'm Erica Masterson and I'm fourteen years old. I took part in the Foróige NFTE Youth Entrepreneurship programme. NFTE stands for the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship. The NFTE programme focuses on teaching key business skills and setting up a real, live business.
Aldi Ireland has announced a three year partnership, worth a six figure sum, with leading youth organisation Foróige.
The Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards, in partnership with Aldi Ireland, will take place in Dublin’s RDS later in the year, and Seán Campbell of Foróige said today, “We are delighted that a company which is now part of so many communities nationally, is aligning itself with us and the work that we do around the country in our 611 clubs and 147 projects.”
Foróige's Reference Panel is a representative body of all the young people involved in the organisation. They are selected from Foróige Clubs, Projects and Youth Services. They are consulted on high-level decision making in the organisation and on a wide range of youth issues. Here are the names of the young people elected and their regions.
The Coca-Cola HBC Foróige 5k was officially launched at the National Sports Campus today. Runners, joggers and walkers of all levels are being urged to save the date. The run which will take place on Sunday May 24th 2015 was launched by Health Minister, Leo Varadkar TD (Dublin West). Foróige in Dublin 15 will coordinate the run and is partnering with Coca-Cola HBC and the National Sports Campus. The route will offer participants a view of the National Sports Campus and its excellent sports facilities.
Foróige is about empowering young people and enriching communities. This is particularly true for 16 year old Nathan Cassidy from Kinlough in Co. Donegal. Nathan attends the Foróige Bundoran Neighbourhood Youth Project and joined when he was 10. He joined the project to meet new friends and to learn some new skills in a fun, positive environment. He recalls that he was a shy young lad who found it difficult to join new groups with new people. Nathan says, “I remember being shy and not knowing what to expect when I started Foróige.
