President Catherine Connolly visited The CRIB, a Foróige youth project in Sligo, on Friday 16 January, marking her first official visit to the region since taking office.

During the visit, the President met with Foróige young people and youth workers and spent time listening to young people talk about their experiences, what matters to them, and the role youth work plays in their lives and communities. Young people led the conversations, sharing what Foróige means to them and how it supports them beyond school.

The visit highlighted the importance of youth led, community based youth work and the value of creating spaces where young people feel listened to and supported.

The CRIB supports young people in Sligo through a range of programmes and activities delivered by trained youth workers, with a strong focus on relationships, connection and participation in the community.
