9th June 2025
We were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Pat Noone, former Chairperson of Foróige (1998 – 2000), over the weekend. Pat was a dedicated Club Leader in Mount Temple Foróige Club for over two decades, where he and his beloved wife Mary supported generations of young people to be at their best. Pat was a true community man who believed passionately in the power of youth work, and in the unique value of the Foróige club model. He had a remarkable understanding of the organisation’s purpose and philosophy, the true essence of Foróige, which he ensured lived vivaciously in his club and in any Foróige initiative he was involved in.
Pat was the driving force behind Foróige in Westmeath for many years and he was extremely generous with his time and talent when it came to mentoring new volunteers and supporting the development of new clubs in the county. He will be remembered for his outstanding contribution to Foróige and the youth of Ireland at both local and National levels.
We send heartfelt condolences to Pat’s wife Mary, sons Padraig, Ciaran and Brendan, daughters Cáit, Mary, Sharon, Elaine, Edel, Michelle and Mairead, brothers, sister, grandchildren and all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace.
