Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards

What are the Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards?

The Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards recognise the huge contribution that young people, like you, make in your communities. The event gives national recognition for the work that has been done in different types of projects all over Ireland. This work could have been a once off event or a long term project and can make a difference to one person or a whole community anywhere in the world.

Who can enter the Awards?

  • If you are aged 10-18 years and are involved in any aspect of Foróige’s work.
  • Young people outside of Foróige who have undertaken a Citizenship Project.

Am I eligible for the Awards?

  • The Awards are open to young people who are between the ages of 10 and 18 years at the time of entry. It is recommended that when completing a project that, where possible, the group should be either 10–12 year olds or 13–18 year olds.
  • Clubs/Projects can submit unlimited group and individual entries, but each entry must be for a separate project/activity.
  • Entrants should have support from adult volunteers/youth work staff i.e. as a guide and facilitator.
  • Entries must relate to projects where a substantial amount of the work took place after May 2018. The project must be completed by the time you submit your entry.

How do we enter?

  • Any Club/Project/Individual who wants to enter the Awards can register now. Please click here to access the form.
  • When your registration is received, you will receive an email confirming receipt of registration and be included on all emails and updates concerning the Awards.
  • Project Report Forms will be emailed to you once you have registered.

We have done the Programme and would like to attend the Awards, but don't want our project to be judged

Even if you do not want your project to be judged, we still ask you to complete a Project Report Form. This is so that we have the information for the day of the Awards and will ensure young people involved get the recognition they deserve. There is a space on the form to indicate whether or not you want the Project to be judged
