Foróige, Ireland's largest youth organisation, welcomes the announcement of the upcoming Children's Referendum and is supporting a ‘Yes’ vote on the 10thof November.

Seán Campbell, CEO Foróige said:

"Article 42A is exclusively concerned with the rights of the child and this amendment to our constitution will help protect vulnerable children and young people in particular. We also welcome the fact that the referendum will be held on a Saturday as we believe that this will impact positively on the number of younger voters who will exercise their democratic right"

Retired people who still like to keep active are being encouraged to volunteer for Ireland's largest youth organisation, Foróige.

2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity Between Generations so there has never been a better time to send out this appeal to those in Ireland who can share their life-experience with young people and by doing so make a really worthwhile contribution. Full training and support will be provided to those who put themselves forward to volunteer.
