Introducing Ireland's Newest and Scariest Annual Event: 'Foróige Freaky Friday'

A skeleton crew from Ireland's largest youth organisation, Foróige, has organised a fangtastic new annual event witch promises to be absolutely terrifying.

'Foróige Freaky Friday' will take place on Friday the 26th of October and already spirits are high! All sorts of scary events will take place during Halloween week, starting on Freaky Friday the 26th.

Teens Awarded Foróige Leadership Certificates During Conferring Ceremony at NUI Galway

111 teenagers from around Ireland graduated from the Foróige Albert Schweitzer Leadership for Life Programme during a conferring ceremony in NUI Galway at the weekend. The graduates were deemed to have demonstrated a desire to lead from the front and set a good example to their peers through positive decision making and actions.

Following the ceremony at NUI Galway on Friday night, one of the graduates, Amy O'Reilly (17) from Tallaght said:

Foróige, Ireland's largest youth organisation, welcomes the announcement of the upcoming Children's Referendum and is supporting a ‘Yes’ vote on the 10thof November.

Seán Campbell, CEO Foróige said:

"Article 42A is exclusively concerned with the rights of the child and this amendment to our constitution will help protect vulnerable children and young people in particular. We also welcome the fact that the referendum will be held on a Saturday as we believe that this will impact positively on the number of younger voters who will exercise their democratic right"


Retired? Still Active? Foróige Needs You!

Retired people who still like to keep active are being encouraged to volunteer for Ireland's largest youth organisation, Foróige.

2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity Between Generations so there has never been a better time to send out this appeal to those in Ireland who can share their life-experience with young people and by doing so make a really worthwhile contribution. Full training and support will be provided to those who put themselves forward to volunteer.

Denis O'Brien, Foróige Volunteer Development Manager explained:
