A Los Angeles based, former senior vice president of Warner Brother films, Greg Durkin, volunteered as a film tutor in the Crib Project Sligo for a 1 day workshop .
The workshop was open to young people in Foróige clubs, projects and BBBS programme.
2000 people attended the "Safe and Sounds" Halloween Festival in Monaghan town!!
The event, which is a partnership between Foróige, the Gardaí, the Fire Service, the Civil Defence, Monaghan Shopping Centre, and Monaghan County Council, is aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour on Halloween night.
The crowd enjoyed music from four local bands, a kiddies disco, a raffle with a top prize of €3,000, and an impressive fireworks display!
The #safeandsounds iniative attracted alot of local media coverage of the event, and the positive message that it promoted.
A group of young Travellers who are members of Ballybane Foróige, and the Westside Youth Project, were involved in a takeover of Galway City Museum, last Friday.
As part of an initiative to make the museum more accessible to young people, the group ran the museum for the day, welcoming visitors, giving tours, and showcasing aspects of their culture.
Young people from Foróige Dublin 15 recently took part in a film installation by visual artist Yvonne McGuinness. The new commission is part of Amharc Fhine Gall, and took place over the course of a number of weeks in Blanchardstown Youth Service with Yvonne and youth officer, Laura Quirke. It culminated in two very long days of filming in Portmarnock. (Amharc Fhine Gall is an annual exhibition funded by Fingal County Council's Arts Office in collaboration with Draíocht).
Members of Foróige Corduff, Corduff Community Youth Project in Dublin 15 cut the ribbon on a massive mural celebrating Irish sports stars from 1916 to 2016.
Gavin Byrne, Senior Youth Officer Blanchardstown said "These dedicated young people worked with volunteer Connor Heffernan to creat a unique graffiti project for their community which measures 90 feet by 8 feet".
There was a massive response to Templeport Foróige's Halloween Scarecrow competition.
The Co. Cavan club called on families, businesses, and community groups to design their own Scarecrows and display them in their gardens from 15th-31st of October.
Pictures of the entries were posted on the Templeport Foróige Facebook page, and the picture with the most 'Likes' won.
The winner was announced at their Children's Halloween Party.
