Seventeen-year-old student Rebecca Staunton from Westport, Co. Mayo is currently doing the Leadership for Life programme. As part of her community action project for module 3, she launched a fundraising campaign for two local charities. She chose to raise funds by chopping off her ponytail!

Her initial aim was to raise €600 however, her campaign on Facebook has received donations from 71 people and generated over €2000 for her chosen charities. The big chop happened on Friday 30th of April.

"Hello from Foróige New York!  We are delighted to have 7 active Foroige clubs here, with 3 clubs in Yonkers and 4 clubs in Rockland  - just a little bit outside of New York City.  It looks like we’ll soon be expanding to more areas in New York city soon also.

The ETB Club Grant Scheme

The ETB club grant scheme

Could your club use up to €3,000 over the next year?

We strongly encourage all Foróige volunteer led clubs to apply for the ETB youth club grant scheme. This year the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion and Youth Affairs has allocated 2.25 million euro for clubs, to be distributed through the ETBs (Education and Training Boards). The maximum available per club is 3,000, though it may be less where an ETB has a lot of applications.

When and how can we apply?
