Foróige Youth & Family Project hosts a Be Well Week in Tramore ft. special guests Bressie and clinical psychologist & broadcaster David Coleman

Foróige’s Tramore Youth & Family Project have just completed the town’s first ever Be Well week with support from the Community Foundation of Ireland, along with help from other groups in the community. The project received a grant to host a variety of events with the aim of promoting positive mental health among young people and the community and to raise awareness of mental health illnesses and support services for those who may be struggling.

Munster Rugby player Robin Copeland becomes a Big Brother youth mentor with Foróige

Renowned Munster Rugby player Robin Copeland signed up to the Foróige Big Brother Big Sister Programme earlier this year and is calling for others to follow in his footsteps and support a young person in need.
 
Earlier this year, Foróige launched the #BigBrotherBigSister campaign in a bid to encourage more volunteers to become “big brothers” or “big sisters” and spend some quality time with a young person who would benefit from having a mentor in their lives.

Michael McGuire, Club Leader at Louisburgh Foróige Club has reached out to us to share a photo of their Citizenship celebrations in 1972! How things have changed…though the trophy is still the same, now emblazoned with the names of citizenship winners from the last 40+ years.

Michael says, “Our club currently has 58 of the nicest young people you could ever ask to meet, aged from 12 to 17. We have several nationalities within the club and we are growing year on year.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation, Richard Bruton, meets Foróige NFTE scholarship recipients at IT Sligo

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton TD launched his North East North West Action Plan for Jobs in IT Sligo yesterday and met with graduates of Foróige’s Youth Entrepreneurship programme who are recipients of scholarships to the college. The students are Paul Murphy, Ethan McMullan and Áine Forde. They spoke to the Minister about their experiences as young entrepreneurs, their business ideas and all they have achieved as a result of the scholarship at IT Sligo.
