Danesfort Parish man John Sullivan was honoured by a large gathering at a surprise 80th Birthday Party in the Springhill Court Hotel on Friday night, January 18th.
John has been a volunteer with Cuffesgrange Foróige Club since 1964 and to thank him for his work, the leaders and members of the Foróige Club organised a surprise party for his 80th Birthday.
Foróige welcomes this week’s report from the Joint Committee on Education and Skills which recommends reform of the Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) curriculum in schools.
Foróige members from Raheny and Skerries were among those who participated in the Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration in the Mansion House in Dublin yesterday, January 27th.
The commemoration included readings, survivors’ recollections, the lighting of candles and music, and was attended by people from all walks of Irish life including President Michael D Higgins who delivered the keynote address.
Ceremonies were held across the world yesterday to honour the victims, and survivors of the Holocaust during the Second World War.

All those interested in registering can do so by completing the NUI Galway Leadership Accreditation Form, and you will not be able to register once the deadline has passed.
By registering you are committing to having all three modules of the Foróige Leadership for Life Programme completed by June 2019.
Foróige is taking part in Operation Transformation 2019, and the Operation Transformation Foróige Walk n Talk is one of its campaigns. We’re encouraging young people and volunteers in Foróige to lay aside time to step up their activity levels and connect to those around them. Please get creative, and feel free to take this challenge on in a way that suits your group best.
The Aldi Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards 2019 will take place on Saturday, 13th April in the National Indoor Arena of the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15!
