This exciting programme enables young people aged 15-18 to develop the skills and qualities necessary to be inspiring leaders. This week is Science Week Ireland's 25th year and to celebrate our love of awesome science, Foróige Young Engineering Solutions with the support of Science Foundation Ireland are running a Balloon Car Challenge / Competition.
Over the course of the summer and into the Autumn, a collaborative group of young people from Foróige Leitrim and Sligo Comhairle na nÓg took part in a therapeutic art project run by Kids' Own. The project allowed these young people to focus on a subject which they felt mattered most to them in 2020, mental health, and wellbeing. This project enabled this group to voice their concerns around youth mental health and to explore creative ways to communicate the problems young people are facing.
Today Foróige sees the launch of an exciting brand new programme, the Foróige Future Proof programme. The Foróige Future Proof programme is in direct response to the climate crisis unfolding right now. Developed specifically for young people, the programme addresses Climate Justice education. It will create an awareness of Climate Justice and climate action among young people, enabling them to make choices for a sustainable future.
