'Strictly Foróige' will take place on Friday 8th November in the Red Cow Hotel at 8pm. The team at Foróige Tallaght have created this exciting dance event to help maintain youth services to young people all across Tallaght. 16 couples will perform on the night and will showcase a variety of dance styles based on their own interests and talent. Each couple will perform an individual dance and then come together to perform a group dance. A panel of three experienced judges who will determine 50% of the vote for each couple. The audience can also purchase votes for each couple at €2.00 per vote. The event will be MC'd by Jesse O'Brien. A raffle will be held with two One Direction tickets on offer. Music will go on until late and all attendees will get an opportunity to dance until late after the show.
In the run up to Strictly Foróige, couples are meeting twice a week with dance instructors to hone their performance in addition to rehearsing in their own time!
Demand for Foróige's youth services in Tallaght has increased significantly, in tandem with drastic cuts to our funding which have impacted on our ability to sustain our current work. We have been working with young people aged 10-18 in the Tallaght area for over 30 years. We currently reach over 6,000 young people in the area by working with the most vulnerable young people and supporting all young people through the provision of projects, clubs and services.
Foróige gives young people the opportunity to develop as good citizens, leaders and entrepreneurs. Through our programmes, they are empowered to improve their own lives to the benefit of their community.
