Taxback.com recently donated €1,000 to the Foróige DRUM Youth Centre in Kilkenny. The donation was made as part of the company’s global CSR initiative which aims to make a difference to young people in the communities which their offices are part of. The money will finance a Kilkenny Street Art project in July which is based on the theme of positive mental health. The initiative ties in with the Taxback.com CSR activity which aims to bring art, sport, music and play to young people all over the world.

Kate Carroll from the Drum, along with three Transition Year students from Presentation Secondary School, Kilkenny, were presented with the cheque by Business Development Manager Eamon Clune. “The Street Art Project aims to engage the young members of the Foróige DRUM Youth Project by involving them in the development of the design and implementation of the project. We hope that volunteers will also get involved with the project,” said Kate.

Kilkenny County Council has given the DRUM Youth Centre riverside wall space along the recently renovated Lacken Walk to carry out their project. The art will feature positive, uplifting images and quotes centered on the theme of ‘positive mental health. It will undoubtedly enrich the walk which is in constant use by the public.
