The National LGBTI+ Youth Strategy 2018 - 2020

 

In June 2018, the world's first National LGBTI+ youth stratgey was published in Irelad. The strategy recognises that young LGBTI+ people can flourishs when they have consistent positive interactions and supportive experiences.

The intention of the strategy is " to continue to strive for the full inclusion of LGBTI+ people in Irish society and to build a more inclusive Ireland"

 

The strategy revolves around three main goals:

- create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for LGBTI= young people.

- improve the mental, physical and sexual health and wellbeing of the entire LGBTI+ community.

- develop the research and data environment to better understand the lives of LGBTI+ young people.

The National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy 2019-2021       
  
 
In November 2019, the Minister for Justice and Equality, Charlie Flanagan, and the Minister of State with special responsibility for Equality, Immigration and Integration, David Staunton, launched the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy 2019-2021. This strategy aims to promote inclusion, protect rights, and improve the quality of life and wellbeing of LGBTI+ people in Ireland with the commitment to create an equal, fair and inclusive society, targeting discrimination and enabling LGBTI+ people to overcome the barriers they face.
