We have been have supplied with a range of cool prizes to give away, one prize per month until the Foróige Youth Citizenship Awards Show in partnership with Aldi Ireland in October. We will be offering prizes to the best photos and videos you send to us each month which depict citizenship in action!
If you are part of a Foróige youth group or Comhairle na nÓg group, we urge you to Register Your Project. If you are not already part of Foróige and would like to join, we'd love to hear from you and/or your youth group. Please reach out to us to learn more about joining.
In April, your Citizenship group can win a pop-up gazebo. Here's how you can win!
1. Send us a photo depicting your citizenship project
Take images depicting the actions taken during your citizenship project. Take photos of your planning meetings, activities outdoors eg. collecting money, clearing a yard, painting and decorating, fundraising, gatherings of any kind. We are interested in seeing the work that has gone on ‘behind the scenes’ of your project. These kinds of images will show citizenship in action and inspire others. Send your photos to [email protected]
2. Send us a video depicting your citizenship project
What does your citizenship project look like while it’s underway? Can you interview the people who are involved? Can you interview the local people positively impacted by your citizenship project? Make a video to document everything that has gone into your project. Send your videos to [email protected]
3. 'Humans of Foróige'
You may be familiar with the very popular Humans of New York Facebook page. We’d like to emulate this idea. We’d like you to photograph someone in your community who has been positively impacted by your citizenship project. It could be an older person, someone who has a disability, it could be a local family, anyone. The next thing to do is to get a testimonial. Ask them what they think of your citizenship project.
Here’s an example of a testimonial which may help:
“I used to dislike going to our local park. It was filthy. I avoided it for this reason and so there was nowhere for us to play as a family. It just wasn’t safe with broken glass and bits of rubbish everywhere. It was getting worse as time went on. Since our local Foróige Club organised a community clean up, things have totally changed for the better. They took ownership of the problem and turned it around. The place is spotless. I’ve never seen the park looking so good and now everyone gets to enjoy it. It gives us a real sense of pride. We’re here most days of the week. I love it.”
Send both the photograph and the testimonial to [email protected]
One overall prize will be presented to the photo, video or Human's of Foróige style project which we feel best depicts citizenship. Photos and videos may be featured on Facebook.com/Foroige, other social media profiles and our website, Foroige.ie
