Claire Hutchinson, Regional Youth Officer with Foróige said, “Despite the fun and sun this year's summer is bringing, this time of the year can be a long and lonely stretch for some young people, especially for those who may not have a very wide social circle, who might find it difficult to socialise or who may be isolated or who may have sensory or processing conditions, such as experiencing Autism.

“In response to this, Foróige South Dublin has recently secured some funding via South Dublin County Council's Health and Wellbeing Initiative 2018, to organise a short series of Pop Up Youth Events for 12-18 yr olds.

“The Pop Up Events will appeal to some teenagers, more than others. We will be taking and making as many efforts to include young people and enable them to participate as much as they are comfortable and able in doing so. Parents are encouraged to consider whether these activities would be suitable or within the capacity range of the young person in mind.”

All of the Pop Up Events are free and will be hosted through the Palmerstown Community Centre, Kennelsforth Green, Palmerstown, Dublin 20.

Places are limited to 20 except the Trip to Sealife Bray (maximum 14 participants).

For further information or to attend parents / guardians can email / phone Claire Hutchinson, Regional Youth Officer, South Dublin with Foróige ([email protected] / 085 1666945)

These events will strictly follow Foróige's Best Practice Guidelines in terms of Youth Work, Child Protection and Child Safeguarding.
