Registration for Accreditation in 2025 is now closed.
On completion of all three modules of the Foróige Leadership for Life programme, participants are eligible to graduate with a Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action, which is awarded by the University of Galway. This is a very unique opportunity for participants to earn a University recognised qualification, before they even consider going to third level education. Having this qualification will show prospective employers that participants have demonstrated a commitment to their own development and leadership potential. This is a wonderful achievement to be able to include in a CV or application form.

Requirements for University of Galway registration
- Be aged 16 or over on 1st January 2025.
- Provide your PPS number.
- Have proof of identity. This can be a birth cert or passport. You will need to upload a photo of one of these to the registration form.
- Have completed, or be planning to complete, Module 1 & 2 of the programme.
- Provide details of a mentor who will support you through the Module 3 project.
Choosing your Mentor
You must have a mentor identified prior to registering for accreditation. They should be someone that is familiar with the Foróige Leadership for Life Programme and be happy to grade your module 3 project and work. You could choose your facilitator from Module 1 or Module 2, a volunteer, a Foróige staff member, a coach or a teacher. You cannot choose a friend or family member to be your mentor. Before you complete the registration form, contact the person you wish to be your mentor and confirm with them that they are happy to do so. - Registration closes for Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership & Community Action. 31st Jan 2025
- Final balance of payment of €300 fee due. – 7th April 2025
- Deadline for submission of Module 1 & 2 grades. – 12 May 2025
- All Module 3 projects to be completed & grades submitted by mentors – 13th June 2025
- Random samples of work requested by Foróige for external grading – 7th July 2025
- Final sign off all grades by external examiner. – End of July 2025
- Transcripts of individual results sent from the University of Galway by post – October 2025
- Graduation ceremony – University of Galway – November 2025
