Leadership for Life is Ireland’s only evidence-based, accredited Youth Leadership programme for under 18 year olds. The programme empowers young people (15-18 years) with the leadership capabilities to reach their full potential while allowing them to learn, practice and develop the core soft skills they will need in their future lives.

The programme is set out in a comprehensive manual, designed for use by teachers in Transition Year, Senior Cycle, Youthreach and CTC. Participants receive workbooks to accompany each module (workbooks are now available in Irish).  There are 3 modules included in the programme. Modules 1 and 2 consist of 15 hours of facilitated learning and module 3 is a self directed Community Action Project. On completion of the 3 modules, participants can apply to receive a Foundation Certificate in Youth Leadership and Community Action from the University of Galway or Queens University, Belfast.  Foróige provides facilitator training online over one and a half days. Teachers are trained in every aspect of the programme and will be confident in delivering the programme to a group of students.
