Registration is now open for the Spar Great Ireland Run which is taking place in the Phoenix Park Dublin on Sunday 15th April. This 10K event is Ireland’s fastest growing 10K event and suitable for all levels of fitness, with walkers, joggers and runners welcome. For younger runners there is a Mini Run for 5-8 year olds and a Junior Run for 9-15 year olds, so why not make it a family day out. Entry for the 2012 Flora Women's 10K Mini Marathon will open on Wednesday 22nd February 2012 on www.florawomensminimarathon.ie and we are hoping for another big group of Foróige runners, joggers and walkers, following on from last years success. This year is the 30th year of the Flora Women's Mini Marathon and it will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th June 2012. For full event details check out www.florawomensminimarathon.ie.

Always wanted to run a marathon? The Cork City Marathon is a great option and takes place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th June. This event includes a half marathon, youth run and the option to run the marathon as a relay team, so there is something for runner of all abilities and ages. Registration is now open at www.corkcitymarathon.ie.
The National Lottery Dublin City Marathon takes place again on Bank Holiday Monday 29th October this year. Registration is now open at www.dublinmarathon.ie, with early bird prices available until 31st July. Walkers are welcome at the event too, so if you have always wanted to say you did a marathon but not sure you could run route why not walk it, or mix running with walking? The Dublin marathon is commonly known as the Friendly Marathon.
