Drum Roll Please! Finally the moment we all have been waiting for...the winner of the Foróige National Christmas Raffle is Sean Cooper from Rathmines in Dublin.
Sean, whose ticket was sold in Co Offaly, is the lucky winner of the first prize of €3,000. Runners up are Brid Sheehan from Athenry in Co. Galway, who bagged the second prize of €500 and Ian O’Connell from Co. Cork who won the €300 third prize – well done you guys!
Congratulations to all the winners, and a big big thank you to everyone who participated in the raffle and raised over €80,000 for Foróige.
Money raised will help fund the local clubs and projects where the raffle tickets were sold and will also help bring Foróige and the many clubs, projects and other services it provides to more communities up and down the country.
Siobhán McGee, Foróige’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We’ve more than exceeded our expectations with the amount of support we received from all of our members, volunteers and staff. Of the more than €80,000 raised, a third stays with the local club or project where the ticket was sold to help them fund more great work locally in 2012. The remainder will help us in our national campaign to reach more young people through new clubs and projects throughout the country.
“A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, both those who organised ticket sales and to all those who sold tickets. Without your support, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
Speaking of dedication, we haven’t forgotten all the amazing Foróige ticket sellers who sold a WHOPPING 26,000 tickets since September. Anyone who sold tickets and entered the competition on our Faceboook page was in with the chance to win an iPad.
The lucky winner of the iPad is Ciara Moran (14) from Blanchardstown in Dublin. Congratulations Ciara and enjoy!
The winners were announced at a draw which took place on December 14th at Foróige Headquarters in Park West in Dublin. This draw has been independently observed by Mazaars, Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors.
