New EU Youth Strategy - Consultation

Cycle VI of the EU Structured Dialogue is focusing on contributions to the creation of the new EU Youth Strategy.

Key questions are being asked all across the EU which will feed into the development of the strategy.


Who: Young people 15-30yrs old who are interested in having their voice heard and getting involved in making positive change in Ireland and Europe!

What: A meeting of young people to contribute thoughts and ideas to the new EU Youth Strategy

A discussion about what young people want to do about issues such as;

  • What needs to change in Education and how can young people prepare for the future of work?
  • How can we manage modern day information overload? Is it a problem?
  • How can we support young people to have respectful and non-violent dialogue with those who have different views?
  • What role can young people play in the actions required within the SDG's? (Sustainable Development Goals)

Also an opportunity to apply and become one of the Irish delegation to the next EU Youth Conference in Bulgaria. 16 - 19 April 2018.

Where: The Gresham Hotel in Dublin

When: Saturday January 27th 2018 10.30 to 3.30pm

Why: Because the quality and impact of the new Youth Strategy will be directly connected to the engagement of young people!

Deadline for registration is Monday 22nd of January. You cannot attend without being registered and having a consent form filled in if under 18yrs .

Under 18? You must fill out a consent form so please email us for a copy and then scan/take picture and send to youngvoices@nyci.ie by Wednesday 24th.

Youth Workers attending with young people will be asked to remain with young people for the duration of the event.

These conversations are part of an 18 month process which links with the EU Presidencies of Estonia, Bulgaria and Austria.

TRAVEL COSTS ON THE DAY WILL BE COVERED IF YOU ARE USING PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND HAVE A VALID TICKET. FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED ALSO.
